Green Umbel Award - for outstanding service to Nature or Music

Bundles of papyrus flowers make a rustling noise when shaken, from which may have evolved a metal rattle, the sistrum, used during rituals of devotion to Hathor, the Egyptian patron goddess of beauty, love, sexuality, joy, dance and music. The presentation occurred when she emerged from her divine papyrus swamp wherein lived papyrus, the Sacred Sedge, “...on which the immortality of man depends...” Pliny the Elder 79 AD.

An award given to the followers of BwanaPapyrus
